It Started With One Simple Question.
What happens to everything after the wedding?
For years, we watched beautiful wedding décor serve its purpose for a single day before being packed into garages, basements, and storage rooms with no clear path forward. At the same time, newly engaged couples were spending thousands of dollars purchasing many of those very same items brand new.
The inventory existed.
The demand existed.
The opportunity didn't.
So we created it.
How It All Began
We saw what was missing.
In 2018, my colleague Lisa and I realized there was a gap in the wedding industry. Couples were packing beautiful décor into garages, basements, and storage rooms with no clear path forward, while newly engaged couples were spending thousands of dollars buying many of those same items brand new.
We saw what was missing, and built what the industry needed.
Our goal was simple: create a place where local couples could buy and sell wedding décor in one thoughtfully organized marketplace.
What began as a local solution quickly revealed something much bigger. Couples across the country were searching for the very same opportunity, proving this wasn't just a local need, but one shared by communities everywhere.
The first Wedding Yard Sale took place in 2019. Today, it has grown into one of the nation's largest in-person wedding resale marketplaces and continues to expand into communities across the United States, helping redefine what happens after the celebration ends.
